Creighton Manning and the City of Albany were recognized with a Transportation Project of the Year Award during the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) NY Upstate Section Annual Meeting in Syracuse on October 6, 2016. The project involved preliminary and final design, environmental approval, and construction of traffic signal improvements at sixty-one (61) intersections on Washington, Western, and New Scotland Avenues, ADA improvements, and an Intelligent Transportation System. This multi-modal project was designed to be cost-effective by completing only necessary improvements to improve pedestrian safety, vehicle progression through signal optimization and coordination, emergency vehicle pre-emption, and transit signal priority capabilities.
Senior Project Manager, Jeffrey Pangburn, PE, accepted the award for Creighton Manning, with Bill Trudeau, the Chief Supervisor of Traffic Engineering for the City of Albany.
