We are seeking Level II and Level III inspectors, Resident Engineers and Senior Construction Inspectors for highway and bridge construction projects. NICET certification, or equivalent experience, is required. Familiarity with NYSDOT specifications and procedures is also preferred. Positions available in NYSDOT Region 1 and Region 8 areas. Creighton Manning is also accepting resumes from graduate engineers for construction inspection opportunities on upcoming highway and bridge projects in New York State. This is a great opportunity for new engineers to start their career in the field, providing the practical foundation needed to become successful designers. Construction inspection experience on NYSDOT projects is preferred, but not required.
We have an exciting opening for a Project Engineer in our Civil Site Group to work on commercial, institutional and residential related civil engineering projects.  Design experience should include layout, grading, water, wastewater, stormwater and other infrastructure facilities.

Job Duties:

  • Site design and layout of vehicular and pedestrian circulation, parking and loading.
  • Highway design, including street and sidewalk plans and profiles.
  • Utility design, including municipal water and sanitary sewer service plans and profiles.
  • Drainage and storm water management design, with particular attention to Phase 2 compliance.
  • Grading and erosion control plans.
  • Landscape, planting and lighting plans.
  • Geotechnical investigation and slope stability analysis.
  • Construction administration and observation.
  • Planning Board reviews to include compliance with the following:
  • SEQR review, including compliance with SEQR procedural requirements.
  • State and Federal environmental laws.
  • Traffic studies and evaluations.
  • Local zoning, subdivision and related land use regulations.
  • Town and generally accepted design and engineering standards.
  • Consistency with the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and other significant Town Planning initiated reports.

This Project Engineer will have:

  • Background in stormwater management, storm drain, erosion and sediment control design. Knowledge of NYSDOT environmental criteria, policy and requirements a plus.
  • Certifications in CPESC and CPSWQ a plus.
  • Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design of stormwater management systems.
  • Proficiency in stormwater modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-HMS, PondPack or TR20, and XPSWMM.
  • Proficient with AutoCad and Civil 3D (Land Development Design).
  • Knowledge of Federal Clean Water Act – NPDES MS4 permit requirements.
  • Proficiency with federal, state, and local stormwater and floodplain permitting and experience in obtaining various permits.
  • Ability to present site plans and reports in front of local land-use regulatory boards.

Job Requirements:

  • 2- 10 years of Civil Engineering experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license in New York State or ability to obtain

  • Experience presenting and/or representing Town Planning Boards.
