We are seeking Level II and Level III inspectors, Resident Engineers and Senior Construction Inspectors for highway and bridge construction projects. NICET certification, or equivalent experience, is required. Familiarity with NYSDOT specifications and procedures is also preferred. Positions available in NYSDOT Region 1 and Region 8 areas. We are seeking a Project Manager for our Site/Civil/Municipal group. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a candidate with the right background to help grow Creighton Manning in Albany, New York. The right candidate must have the internal drive to deliver results, along with a proven track record of Design and Construction experience in a variety of private and public land development and capital improvement projects in the Capital District area. The ideal candidate must have a “whatever it takes” attitude, and the motivation to help advance the Site/Civil/Municipal Engineering Group for the company.

This person will perform project design duties in coordination with a team of support staff to develop detailed engineering documents for construction. The experienced individual must be capable of delivering projects that meet technical requirements on time and within budget as well as have the ability to coordinate project submittals, facilitate regulatory agency approvals, and obtain construction permits. The individual is expected to manage design for multiple projects while supervising and fostering a team environment and to be available as a resource. The ideal candidate will also be able to effectively lead public meetings as well as resolve construction conflicts and identify solutions on complex issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience directly related to design and construction of land development projects in NYS
  • Experience presenting and/or representing Town Planning Boards
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering (Graduate degree preferred)
  • Professional Engineering Registered in the State of New York
The responsibilities of the position include:

  • Stormwater system design and analysis, including detention, conveyance system, and stormwater quality BMPs
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and preparation of drainage/hydraulic reports
  • Engineering design, plan preparation, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks on site and roadway projects
  • Obtaining various permits
  • Proposal preparation

This engineer will have:

  • BS in civil engineering (Graduate degree preferred)
  • PE with a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on stormwater management
  • Strong background in stormwater management, storm drain, erosion and sediment control design. Knowledge of NYSDOT environmental criteria, policy and requirements a plus
  • Certifications in CPESC and CPSWQ a plus
  • Strong experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design of stormwater management systems
  • Proficiency in stormwater modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-HMS, PondPack or TR20, and XPSWMM
  • Proficient with AutoCad and Civil 3D (Land Development Design)
  • Knowledge of Federal Clean Water Act – NPDES MS4 permit requirements
  • Proficiency with federal, state, and local stormwater and floodplain permitting and experience in obtaining various permits
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to present site plans and reports in front of local land-use regulatory boards

We are seeking an entry level Engineer to complement our Traffic Group.

Responsibilities of the position include:

The entry level engineer supports transportation studies and designs by evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform tasks under the general guidance of a Project Engineer or Project Manager. Typical projects include safety studies, traffic impact studies, corridor and area-wide transportation plans, and traffic signal design.

  • Work includes office and field work; e.g. coordinating and performing data collection, field measurements, traffic counts, observations, and data reduction.
  • Maintain equipment inventory.
  • Perform portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
