Project Description

Mosquito Point Bridge

Town of Lexington, Greene County, New York

Creighton Manning was responsible for the Preliminary and Final Bridge Design phases for the reconstruction of CR2 (Little West Kill Rd) over the Schoharie Creek, commonly referred to as the Mosquito Point Bridge. The project included the construction of a new 142 ft span steel truss superstructure bridge with precast post-tensioned deck panels with minor modifications to the existing bridge substructure units. The new structure is a galvanized, bolted steel truss resting on new cast-in-place concrete bridge seats. The bridge plays a significant role in the local summer economy and required an accelerated winter construction schedule. Due to the aggressive schedule and winter weather conditions several precast and prefabricated construction materials were utilized.  Additional services provided by Creighton Manning included:

  • Construction Inspection
  • Design Approval Document
  • Coordinated Environmental Studies
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • ACOE, DEC and DEP permitting
  • Cost Estimating
  • Construction Support Services
  • Surveying and Mapping
