State Street Reconstruction

This project entailed preliminary and final highway design of State Street in the City of Albany. The project involved the reconstruction of a one-mile section of State Street (NY Route 5) beginning at its intersection with Broadway and ending near its intersection with Hawk Street (adjacent to the NYS Capital Building). Creighton Manning Engineering was the prime consultant responsible for complete streets highway design, traffic and transit engineering, design of significant streetscape improvements, utility coordination, advanced traffic modeling, NEPA/SEQR, environmental documentation, and construction inspection services.

The corridor services 150 transit buses an hour in the peak direction. This State funded project serves both Bus Rapid Transit and local service for the Capital District Transportation Authority’s NY 5 corridor along with regional transit operators.
