City of Hudson, Columbia County, New York

This $4.5M Locally Administered Federal Aid project, PIN 8761.55, involved replacing the bridge spanning rail lines just north of the Hudson Amtrak Station. The bridge was closed in 2014 due to deterioration and provides a grade-separated crossing for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists to access the Hudson River waterfront and public boat launch.

The new 70 ft single-span truss includes two vehicular lanes, sidewalks, and shoulders wide enough for bicycles. Sidewalk ramps were also improved at the adjacent intersection. The superstructure was raised 4 feet to meet Amtrak clearance requirements, and roadway improvements enhanced overall safety for all users.

Services Provided:

  • Preliminary and final bridge design
  • SHPO, railroad, and utility coordination
  • Public participation
