Congratulations to Assistant Structural Engineer and firefighter, Zach Porter on his graduation from Firefighter 1 training with the Hillcrest Volunteer Fire Department in Mechanicville, New York. The graduation ceremony was held on Monday, December 16, 2019 and is the culmination of 83 hours of training both in the classroom and on the training grounds over the last 4 months.
Zach has been a volunteer firefighter since 2014, previously serving for 5 years with the Lorraine Volunteer Fire Company in his hometown of Lorraine, NY. He is a recent Clarkson University graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and assists with a variety of bridge and culvert engineering and design activities as part of the firm’s structures group.
