Project Description

Bonnaroo Transportation Plan

Coffee County, Manchester, Tennessee

Creighton Manning works with special event promotors to assist in planning and implementation of transportation plans to facilitate access. Creighton Manning developed the Transportation Plan for vehicular access as well as pedestrian flow for the Bonnaroo Festival to accommodate approximately 90,000 attendees camping on-site for the three-day event. The firm coordinated meetings and activities with representatives from law enforcement agencies (two local plus State Highway Patrol), local and state emergency management agencies, and Tennessee Department of Transportation. Creighton Manning was responsible for planning and coordinating Variable Message Sign location, programming, and installation; designation of spectator, artist, emergency vehicle, travel routes and alternate routes; consultation at traffic control operations during the event through a police command center; public meetings and media releases regarding the transportation system; developing web site content describing the transportation plan; and real time supervision of the parking and traffic routing operations during the event.
