High Sheldon Wind Farm Site Design

Town of Sheldon, Wyoming County, New York

This project involved the construction of 75 GE turbines on 80m towers with an output capacity of approximately 140 MW. The project includes an O & M facility, collection system, collection and interconnection substations, access roads and layout areas for project components and materials. Off-site improvements identified by the Route Evaluation Study consisted of intersection and related drainage improvements necessary to accommodate the oversized delivery vehicles. Creighton Manning was responsible for the design of all highway plans for both the off-site intersection improvements and proposed access road improvements within the NYSDOT right of way. Creighton Manning coordinated and secured all of the necessary NYSDOT permits needed to construct eight access roads and five intersection improvements, in a phased approach to accommodate an aggressive construction schedule. Creighton Manning assisted in the civil site design by locating and sizing any necessary drainage improvements needed along the access road network.
