Town of Johnsburg, Warren County, New York

This $2.5 million federally funded project involved the full replacement of two bridges on low-volume rural roads within a single contract. Structures were designed to match the roadway characteristics, be low maintenance, cost-effective, and meet NYSDOT standards.

  • Dippikill Road over Glen Creek Bridge: Replaced a 34 ft span multi-girder rolled beam bridge with a 40 ft pre-cast concrete 3-sided rigid frame structure supported on cast-in-place footings founded on micropiles. The design allowed the roadway to remain unpaved, maintaining the character of the surrounding area.
  • Glen Creek Road over Glen Creek Bridge: Replaced a 45 ft span with a 66 ft steel multi-girder superstructure skewed 45° to match the waterway. Integral abutments founded on micropiles were used, and the bridge was designed as straight to simplify fabrication and construction despite the curved roadway alignment.
