Creighton Manning was the lead civil engineer of record on a $26 million design-build contract with the ORDA and responsible for the design of various site improvements at the Olympic Sports Complex at Mount Van Hoevenberg. The scope of work included significant earthwork to construct approximately 2.5 miles of new Nordic ski trails, pedestrian bridges, culverts, access roads, a new Nordic stadium, biathlon shooting range, site work for construction of a new base lodge, 4.1 million gallon snowmaking reservoir, and water and wastewater infrastructure. Creighton Manning provided survey and mapping, design, construction support, and environmental permitting including NYS DEC SPDES and ACOE wetland and stream disturbance. The project was delivered in preparation for the 2021 Bobsled and Skeleton World Championships, a precursor to World University Games 2023 and World Championships 2025. Creighton Manning’s involvement assisted with the transformation of Mount Van Hoevenberg into one of the greatest Nordic venues in the world.
