Project Description
Regional Transit Service (RTS) Connection Hubs
City of Rochester, Monroe County, New York
Regional Transit Service (RTS) provides public transit in an eight-county region in Upstate New York. As a result of the Reimagine RTS study, the RTS Connection Hubs project was initiated to make the transit system more frequent, more reliable, and more connected to meet the evolving needs of the region and include more mobility options. The Connection Hubs serve as a critical role in first/last mile connections that extend the reach of the fixed-route network. These Connection Hubs were envisioned as enhanced bus shelters, and incorporate passenger and multi-modal amenities to facilitate transfer from different transportation modes to the transit system.
Creighton Manning was the prime consultant responsible for design and construction administration services to construct three (3) Connection Hubs in the Rochester, NY area. The scope of work included development of a conceptual layout for each hub to address access and circulation for buses, pedestrians, and vehicle traffic.
