Round Lake Road Reconstruction
Town of Malta, Saratoga County, New York
Round Lake Road Traffic and Mobility Improvements (PIN 1757.54) is a Complete Streets project that involved 2,800 LF of roadway reconstruction to address multi-modal capacity and safety issues along Saratoga County Road 80. The Round Lake Road Sidewalks project (PIN 1759.60) was funded through the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program and consisted of 1,100 LF of sidewalk and 1,700 LF of pedestrian path along Round Lake Road. The Town of Malta progressed both projects under one contract.
The scope of work for this $5.0M locally administered federal aid contract included survey, roadway design including two single-lane roundabouts, sidewalks with rapid-flash beacons at the crosswalks, street lighting, acquisition of private property, an extensive public involvement campaign, and construction inspection services.
The project received the APWA Capital Branch 2015 Project of the Year award in the Transportation Category.
