Project Description

University at Albany Data Center Relocation

City of Albany, Albany County, New York

The State University of New York at Albany relocated their University Data Center by renovating and expanding an existing services building on the western end of the Uptown campus. The existing building received a one-story addition to create a 38,300 square foot, state-of-the-art, IT building. The building increased the campus’ green footprint with its LEED Silver-certification, and has received Tier III design certification from the Uptime Institute, the certification authority for the enterprise data center industry. Creighton Manning was the civil engineer of record, providing professional services to the project architect. The scope of work included relocation of utilities, and included services related to site grading, drainage, stormwater management, landscape architecture, parking, and design of pedestrian and vehicular access.
